Mollie Ruskin doesn’t fit cleanly into any one box. She is a designer, an artist, an organizer, a politico, and a social change junkie.

She pays the bills working as the Communications Coordinator at Upstream Public Health, a Oregon-based non-profit that advocates for innovative solutions to public health challenges. In the wee hours of the night (and morning), Mollie works as a freelance graphic designer, partnering with local candidates and non-profits to craft powerful visual materials that advance their efforts in the progressive and social justice arena.

After graduating with a BA in Media Studies from Pomona College and participating the Politicorps Fellowship (a grassroots organizer political bootcamp, of sorts), Mollie worked as an organizer with the Bus Project, a legislative aide to a state representative, and a few dozen other miscellaneous gigs in progressive politics.  To each of these passionate fields, Mollie brings a fire for social change accompanied by a pragmatic and skilled designer’s eye for creating effective and compelling visual materials.

Based in Portland, OR, Mollie is forever on the hunt for for new and meaningful ways to be an groundbreaking agent of change and one day. She’s hoping Impact! will give her all the answers.
