My first experiences of designing for social causes began in college with a professor who had such incredible passion for this line of work.
With her, I have had the opportunity to work on an international campaign, which was personally rewarding, as well as placing third for AIGA’s 2009 ReDesign Awards for the Student Social Responsibility category. Working with this professor and partaking in her projects were life changing for me, which helped bring to life my desire and passion to continue in the field of social design.
There is a certain power of design that I believe can stretch beyond consumer marketing and can help promote change throughout the world, and I have found this to be my greatest motivation to pursue in my work. I have a strong passion for projects that inspire youth, empower women, promote health and physical activity, and encourage community development. With the capabilities of a designer there is immense potential to instill values and empowerment on our society. I am currently a design professional, looking to explore new resources and expand my ideas to ignite social entrepreneurial opportunities.
