Transplanted from the West Coast, Etienne is a Vietnamese-American Queer Artist and Designer living in New York City.
He has worked with various non-profit organizations and has been immersed in the arts for the past 5 years, working closely with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) population and the Vietnamese community of Southern California. Traversing the disciplines of art, design, theatre, cultural studies, social criticism, and psychology, he sets to bring awareness to critical issues and create change through visual arts and entrepreneurship with his experience in theatrics, design background in set, prop and graphics, artistic directing and community engagement.
He is currently a Creative Arts Therapy student at The New School with an intent of exploring how psycho-therapy can be used to heal people through art and drama. He continues his learning through his internship with BOMB Magazine and works part-time at the Museum of Modern Art. He draws inspiration from bookstores, frequent museum visits, pairing breakfast with talk shows, and has a newfound love for print publication. He supports small businesses and socially conscious companies, and would like to develop one of his own with SVA’s IMPACT! program as his jump start.
