Michael Blakeney

Consultant

Michael Blakeney is an independent development consultant focused on support and strategy for projects grounded in people-centered architecture, graphic design and fine art.

Michael has been a public high school teacher, school administrator and education researcher. With a doctorate in educational administration, he has deep experience in qualitative research, and developing proposals for funding as well as project visioning. Years of experience securing support for projects lead Michael into development.

Michael actively applies his experience in development and education to social action initiatives. He serves as an advisor at Project M—working with designers on projects for the greater good. He has worked with Project M participants in Belfast, Maine and Greensboro, Alabama. He is also an advisor with BaSiC Initiative where he is involved in a multi-year design-build program involving school construction and agriculture Ladakh, India.

Additionally, Michael has an active studio practice with a focus on painting.
